Paimon aka Kopo Jake Nathane is an interdisciplinary artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a scholar and academic, Paimon completed his secondary studies at the prestigious St Stithians’ boys college. He then went on to complete his bachelor's degree in Drama and Instrumental Music Studies at Rhodes University in Makhanda, Grahamstown. 

Interdisciplinary, Paimon is a jack of all traits. As a musician,Paimon independently released his first single titled ‘Ashes’ in 2019 and garnered 5000 streams across all streaming services in its first week. Currently, they are preparing for the release of his upcoming ep Descent: Memoirs of and Ambitious B*tch a pop/afrobeats ep and the release of the lead single from the EP, IT BOY.

Paimon’s performance and production career extends to page, stage, film and television. In acting work he has worked on several voice overs for commercial broadcasters. He has also starred in local adverts such as Hippo Insurance.

As an actor Paimon is currently touring Born Naked which he alongside director Kirsten Harris and costar Lethabo Bereng devised and published under Zikkazimba Productions. In 2021, as the recipient of the Market Lab Barney Simon Residency Pamion went on to produce, direct and perform his new theatre work ‘Descent’ which is the theatrical/ performance production component of his upcoming musical ep. ‘Descent’ is currently being re-crafted and refined for an otherworldly experience and will run in theatres from summer 2022.

As a newcomer to film, Paimon is currently crafting his skill through mentorship and assistance. Paimon in 2021 was a Production Manager and Assistant at Beyond Black. He worked several productions for serial Mzansi Magic (Unogada) and Showmax films (Umkoti Wethu). In 2022, Paimon plans to extend his skills in film making as a director and screenwriter in his own work such as music videos and screen adaptations of his previous theatre works.
